We, human beings exist in Communities. Whether we are in Surat or San Francisco, we need people and community around us - A community that understands and respects us.

Your community, your Samaj - Surti Leva Patidar Samaj of California was initiated in 1981 by dedicated visionaries of our great community who experienced a need for strong association to promote and protect our identity. The main focus of the association is to provide a stable platform to our samaj for all social, cultural and religious activities.

Surti Leva Patidar Samaj is a responsible association providing 3 major community services:

- Charity, Donations and Disaster Relief.
- Educational Programs For School Children.
- Religious and Cultural Activities.

Surti Leva Samaj donated $ 55,000 for the relief work after 9/11 tragedy. The samaj also donated $ 25,000 for the relief work after Katrina Hurricane. We also donated $ 52,000 for the rehabilitation work after earthquake in Bhuj, India.

The school in the association campus imparts value based education to kids and 60 kids attend the school.

Samaj conducts 10-12 religious and cultural programs every year. All members of the Samaj participate actively in the cultural programs.

Your Samaj Association has always been at the forefront to promote our cultural values and to give our children the taste of our heritage.

The idea of forming this organization primarily came from some dedicated community members on a Volleyball Sports Ground. In 1981, we were one of the first Samaj's in the United States, to purchase our own hall, thus providing a place of gathering for the benefit and betterment of our community.

The progress of this association since 1981, has become possible solely because of the enormous generosity and support of all Samaj Members.
